What is a .AS file?
The most common data format on the web.
An AS file is plain-text ActionScript source code - the programming language behind Adobe Flash and Flex apps. Any text editor opens it. It is not runnable on its own; it must be compiled into a .swf. With Flash Player end-of-life in December 2020, most AS files today are legacy source.
