What is a .MCMETA file?
The most common data format on the web.
An MCMETA file is a small JSON text file that Minecraft Java Edition reads to identify a resource pack or data pack (pack.mcmeta) or to animate a texture (texture.png.mcmeta). Open it with any text editor such as Notepad, Notepad++, or VS Code. There is nothing to convert; it is already plain JSON.
