What is a .DJV file?
Everything worth knowing about DjVu Image File (single-extension variant) files.
A .djv file is the same format as .djvu, a compressed scanned-document container developed at AT&T Labs in 1996. The two extensions are byte-for-byte identical; .djv is the shorter DOS-era spelling. Open it with SumatraPDF or WinDjView on Windows, Okular on Linux, or MacDjView on macOS. If a reader refuses the .djv extension, rename the file to .djvu and it will open without any conversion.

Is my .DJV file uploaded?
No. Your .DJV file is opened and rendered for you. The first time, a small open-source rendering component is downloaded and then cached.
Why does the first file take a moment?
The first time, your browser downloads the rendering component. After that it's cached, and new .DJV files open in a second or two.
Why are some images shown as grey boxes?
Some .DJV files embed image types the browser can't draw (such as TIFF or JPEG XR). Text, vector graphics and standard PNG and JPEG images are shown normally.
Can I search inside my .DJV file?
Yes, when your .DJV file includes a text layer. Files that are pure scans or drawings without embedded text can't be searched.
Can I convert my .DJV file to PDF?
Not yet in this viewer. You can save any page as an image. A .DJV to PDF converter is on our roadmap.
